Tidbits: This card evokes the day of Judgment, but Michael calls us to the spiritual battle for personal freedom in this symbolism, not Gabriel announcing a diety’s will. The call is to “be a source of radiance and glory in every act.” This card refers to the firey self-purification process, specifically regarding how we view ourselves in our deepest beliefs and emotions (Scorpio). The hope is that we master within ourselves a sense of uprightness and moral shame, which inspires us to transform our lives (Pluto). The symbolism of the Tooth points to an acknowledgment that this is a lot to chew on and very fulfilling!

In a reading, this card evokes qualities of awakening and redemption, self-judgment leading to definite changes, and a motivation for personal work. If unsupported, it’s calling us out for a refusal to be accountable.

  6. Write down the details of the image that have meaning to you and the 2 or 3 interpretations (perhaps 1 heavenly, 1 upright earthly, and 1 reversed earthly) that resonate most strongly for you.
  7. Reflect on whatever correspondences you can find, such as relationships to other cards, astrological associations, and anything else. Include notes on anything specific that stands out.
