Four Card readings

With the introduction of a fourth card the possibilities expand significantly. Here are a few ideas on how to play with a fourth card.

NOTE: In the “four world” reading, you must separate your deck into the 4 minor suits before you begin.

You can also play with the first word, expansion, and clarification reading by adding a fourth card in an intuitive place. Typically, the fourth card in my readings is treated as an expansion on the clarification. However, when making a sentence with the tarot, you may find the 4th card to fill out different portions of the reading. As always, follow your instincts, be creative, and trust your knowledge of the symbols. Having fun, relaxing, and letting “it” flow through you is what is most essential.

Try out some Four Card Layouts!

  1. Start your day with a reading. You’ll likely notice that four-card layouts are specific enough to point to the energetic constructs present. This makes them more like “sit-reps” (situational reports) than horoscopes.
    • Continue making liberal use of your journal and sharing with friends.
  2. When you or anyone has a question, see what the cards have to say.

Remember to use your intuition/memory first and your encyclopedia entries second. Adjust your reading based on your encyclopedia, and update your encyclopedia with any interesting insights you have about the cards.
