- 7 days guided fine body scan (15+ minutes twice daily)
Why 21 days?
This program lasts 21 days because it takes that long for our system to begin acclimatizing to a new situation. Note that this does not establish a new habit or guarantee that we do not regress! 21 days is simply a bare minimum effort required to begin settling into a “new normal.”
You will be led through three phases to support this shift, deepening embodied sitting in seven-day cycles. The three cycles are:
- Establishing ourselves in the details of posture.
- Practicing a “coarse” body scan is a meditation that makes the posture a habit.
- Practicing a “fine” body scan is a meditation that releases the contractions that limit our experience.
The intention for short sitting periods is to ensure the intensity and integrity of our practice. It is much better to have a shorter period with absolute focus to the posture and the body scan, then a longer period with less focus or daydreaming.
